Our Work

What We Do for Construction Clients

  • Your reputation is not just what your clients think—it's what your community, employees, investors, and local government officials believe about who you are and how you operate. We help you manage all of it, proactively.

    • Community relations and neighborhood communication for project sites

    • Government and regulatory affairs communications

    • Investor and lender communications

    • Crisis communications and rapid-response planning

    • Executive visibility and thought leadership

  • The firms that win the talent war in Virginia will be the ones with an attractive story. We help construction companies build an employer brand that can attract the next generation of skilled workers and help them retain the ones they already have.

    • Employer brand strategy and messaging development

    • Recruiting-focused media and content campaigns

    • Trade school and community college partnership communications

    • Internal communications and employee engagement programs

    • 'Careers in construction' storytelling campaigns

  • In a Virginia market growing as fast as ours, the firms that are known win the work. We help construction companies build the brand credibility that can drive RFP wins, partnership conversations, and business development outcomes.

    • Media relations with Richmond and Virginia business press

    • Project announcements and milestone communications

    • Award nominations and industry recognition

    • Thought leadership placement in trade and local media

    • Economic development bid and proposal support

Built for Virginia

Spry PR founder and CEO Stephanie Pryor came to Richmond by choice, drawn by the energy of a city with serious momentum and a business community worth being part of. We've been here building the local relationships that make PR work at the ground level: with journalists who cover the region, with civic and business organizations, and with the stakeholders who sit at the intersection of development and community. We don't claim to have been here forever, but we do claim to show up where it matters.

PRSA Keystone Award — Employee Engagement & Corporate Communications

When Armstrong World Industries—a leader in the manufacture and design of ceilings, walls and exterior facades—needed to elevate its employee engagement and corporate communications strategy, they called Spry PR.

We identified, nominated, and amplified a prestigious Women MAKE Award from the Manufacturing Institute for an AWI plant manager who had helped to save the company over $2 million and divert 3,500 tons of waste annually—and who was the first woman to hold her role at her plant. The coordinated campaign across earned, owned, and shared media reached tens of thousands organically and earned a 2025 PRSA Keystone Award for excellence in PR execution.

Armstrong's VP of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications said it best:

The manufacturing industry faces a significant skilled workforce shortage, and we recognize that celebrating and rewarding our employees is a critical factor in engagement and retention. These are the people who keep our plants running.
— Theresa Womble, VP of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications, Armstrong World Industries

Let's Talk About Your Reputation.

Virginia's construction market is moving fast. The firms that invest in how they're perceived—by clients, communities, employees, and the officials who shape what gets built—will have a real advantage over those that don't.

If you're ready to think strategically about your public standing, we'd welcome a conversation. We're based in Richmond and available for online and in-person meetings throughout Central Virginia.
